1. Scope

1.1 This Announcement of the Requirements for Halal Product Manufacturing Process Certification shall be used as a guideline for Halal certification by the Central Islamic Council of Thailand and the Provincial Islamic Committees, as the case may be. It covers the manufacturing process of Halal products in accordance with the principles of Islam.

1.2 Halal products to be certified under this announcement must comply with the requirements of Islamic principles as certified by the religious organization, as well as relevant laws and standards concerning food safety, marking, and labeling.

1.3 This announcement shall come into force from the day following the date of its approval by the Central Islamic Council of Thailand.

3. Definitions

The meanings of the terms used in this announcement are as follows:

3.1 Committee means the Central Islamic Council of Thailand or the Provincial Islamic Committee, as the case may be.

3.2 Halal Affairs Officer means an officer of the Halal Affairs Department of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand or the Provincial Islamic Committee, as the case may be.

3.3 Operator means a natural person or a juristic person or a service provider who manufactures for sale, orders or imports into the Kingdom for sale, or purchases for resale; a person who commissions production, a contract manufacturer, and shall include an advertising business operator.

3.4 Halal Team means a team appointed by the operator to serve as a committee to manage and control the production of Halal products in accordance with this announcement, under the supervision of the Central Islamic Council of Thailand or the Provincial Islamic Committee, as the case may be.

3.5 Product Inspection Committee means a product inspection committee appointed by the Committee to conduct inspections.
